Honda FC Sports Car

The recent Honda FC Sport concept car, which was unveiled at the LA Auto Show, may be more design study than a realistic vehicle, but the hydrogen-powered sports car may hint at the future Honda sports cars we’re likely to see in the not too distant future.

The design of the Honda FC Sport is similar to that of the Honda FCX Clarity. The vehicle offers a lightweight, sporty design with a very low center of gravity and a powerful electric motor. The FC also produces zero emissions and the design is a study that combines low-weigh, efficiency, and high performance.

Honda’s goal when designing the FC Sport was to explore how to build a vehicle that would excite performance enthusiasts. The high-output fuel cell powering the FC Sport delivers power thanks to an advanced fuel cell stack located between the rear seats. There’s also a battery pack located in the center of the vehicle. The placement of these vital components doesn’t interfere with the race-inspired driving position either, making this a seriously eco-friendly sports car.

The sleek design of the Honda FC Sport combines an appearance of technical innovation and sportiness, with angular sculpting and bold lines. Although we won’t see the Honda FC Sport on the road anytime soon, we may see more of the FC’s design cues in the near future.
