Honda Insight April 2009

The covers have been taken off the all-new Honda Insight concept, which is reportedly production ready and on its way to US showrooms by April of 2009. The Honda Insight was shown off at the Paris Motor Show, and will be priced below $20,000.

Pricing for the upcoming Honda Insight makes it highly competitive against its main rival, the Toyota Prius. In addition, the hybrid also gets fuel economy similar to that of the Civic Hybrid, which gets about 40 miles per gallon in the city and 45 mpg on the highway; although initial reports suggested that the vehicle was far more efficient with an estimated 60 mpg. With the introduction of the Honda Insight, competition between compact hybrids will certainly heat up in the coming months.
