Honda Certified Master Tech
From left to right: Eric Hart Service Manager for University Honda, Perry Morris, District Service Manager for American Honda, Dave Cox, American Honda Certified Technician for University Honda, and Ron Theis, dealership owner.
David was convinced that becoming a mechanic meant a job that is “Recession-Proof”, and for the most part, David has been right. People are hanging onto their vehicles longer now, spending the money to keep them well maintained. David is one of the Certified Masters that keeps them going! I asked David what his motivation was. He said, “My goal was to get 100% done with all classes and testing!” This is no easy task, as there are over 360 American Honda tests and self study courses!
David and his wife Kelly collect classic cars and motor bikes. Among their collectible items are 3 vintage Novas, 2 vintage Fords including a 1934 three window coupe. He also rides a ’02 Harley and works on a 1948 Indian Motor Cycle!! David is gentile and kindhearted. Maybe that is why he is the “Go-to-Guy” when it comes to the University Honda vehicle “Odd-ball” jobs. David has gained the respect of his fellow technicians in the shop as his work load has increased. We are so pleased to have him as an asset all these years. Congratulations Dave may we be able to enjoy your Certified Professional ways of a Master Mechanic for many more years to come!
