“August 2nd University Honda hosted its first Car Show. We called it “Cruz-in”. The weather was just right and the food and drinks were free! It wasn’t a bad turn out for our first try. Most of the show case visitors were local car enthusiast invited by Dave and Kelly Cox, two of our employees. Dave and Kelly spend much of their free time showing their private collection of vehicles throughout the Northwest Car Show circuit. One of my favorite cars shown was a restored ‘64 Chevy II Nova with a blown 427. It’s a sweet ride!

We cleared the used car parking lot and made room for some of the most beautiful, reconditioned, original vehicles in the Corvallis area. The idea behind the event, stated by owner Ron Theis, was “just for fun.” Most of us who work at University Honda are into cars. This gave us a chance to have fun, entertain guests and enjoy the hard work put into these vehicles. People who were passing on 9th St, turned into the dealership just to take it all in. Some visitors, sporting their own collectibles, drove in and spontaneously became part of the show. It was fun, and well attended. We now know what to expect for the next event scheduled for August 2011. Pencil in: “University Honda’s Cruz-in” on your August calendar and look for the ads, then feel free to CRUZ-IN to enjoy or be part of the show!!”
